What we do

Professional care, delivered with a family's attention.

Every patient deserves dignified, individual-focused care that institutional settings often struggle to deliver.

Heart of Angels Nursing is a family-oriented home care provider and healthcare staffing agency based in Cedar Rapids, Nebraska, serving families across central Nebraska and beyond. We were founded on two decades of clinical nursing experience in hospitals, assisted living, and long-term care — and on what that experience taught us about the difference between covering a shift and truly caring for a person.

We pair certified caregiving expertise with genuine family support, so the people we serve keep their routines, their independence, and their dignity right where they are.

  • FamiliesDedicated in-home care for aging parents, spouses, and loved ones who want to stay where they're comfortable.
  • FacilitiesCredentialed nurses and aides for continuous, compliant patient coverage across the region.

Personal Care & Daily Living Support

Hands-on help with the parts of the day that have gotten harder, on a schedule that fits your family.

This is a starting point, not an assessment. Every care plan we build starts with an in-home consultation.

    Is it time?

The signs are usually small before they're obvious.

Most families wait for a fall or a hospital stay to make the decision for them. Check anything that sounds familiar — it's a useful thing to bring to a first conversation.

    0of 8 noted

Nothing checked yet. Take a minute and think about the last few weeks.

    Why families choose us

The difference is who's behind the care.

We're small on purpose. It's what lets us match caregivers thoughtfully, answer the phone ourselves, and stay flexible when life changes.

20+ years of real clinical experience

Two decades of hospital, assisted living, and long-term care nursing shapes every care plan we write — not a franchise playbook.

    Care built around one person

Plans follow your loved one's routine and preferences, not a facility's shift change — and they get adjusted as needs change.

    Consistent, matched caregivers

We match on skill and temperament, then protect that consistency — especially in memory care, where a familiar face matters most.

    Genuinely flexible scheduling

A few hours a week, overnight coverage, or full live-in care. Start where you're comfortable and scale up or down anytime.

    Transparent from the start

Clear plans, clear pricing, clear communication. You'll know the cost before anything is scheduled — no surprises on an invoice.

    Family-led, not corporate

An owner who knows every client and caregiver by name, and a team invested in your family's wellbeing beyond the visit.

    How it works

Four simple steps to care at home.

No confusing intake, no pressure. Just a clear path from your first call to a caregiver at the door.

    Step one

    Reach out

Call or send us a message. You don't need the right vocabulary — just tell us what's been getting harder.

    Step two

    Free consultation

We call you back the same day and talk through options, costs, and whether in-home care is even the right fit.

    Step three

    In-home assessment

We visit, listen, and build a customized care plan around routines, safety, preferences, and the family's schedule.

    Step four

    Care begins

Your matched caregiver starts, and we stay in touch with check-ins and adjustments as needs evolve.

    Questions

    Answers before you call.

Most families are figuring this out for the first time. There's no wrong question, and no script on our end of the line.

    Ask us anything →

Not quite. Our in-home services are non-medical personal care — help with bathing, dressing, meals, mobility, companionship, and transportation. Skilled medical services are provided through a physician-ordered home health agency. If you're unsure which one you need, we'll help you sort it out on the consultation call.

Add hourly rate or starting price Cost depends on the hours of support, the level of care, and whether care is scheduled or live-in. You'll get a clear number during the free consultation — before anything is scheduled.

Credentialing with Nebraska DHHS, Medicare/Medicaid, and the Area Agency on Aging is currently in process. Until those approvals are finalized, our home care services are private pay. Update as approvals land

Confirm minimum visit length Scheduling is flexible, from a few hours a week through 24/7 and live-in coverage. Many families start small — a couple of mornings a week — and add hours as needs change.

That's the goal, and it's why we match deliberately instead of filling a slot. Consistency matters most in dementia care, so we protect it hardest there. If a regular caregiver is out, you'll know who's coming before they arrive.

Every inquiry gets a same-day callback. After the in-home assessment, most care plans can begin within confirm turnaround. Hospital-to-home transitions are prioritized so the first week home is the safest one.

They will — that's normal. Care plans are reviewed on an ongoing basis, and hours, tasks, and schedules can be adjusted up or down. You're never locked into a level of care that stopped fitting.

Client and applicant information is handled under strict adherence to our privacy policy and HIPAA guidelines, with data security measures protecting every record. We never sell or share your information with third parties.

Care with Heart. Serve with Purpose.
